We are constantly asked "Can I buy a new (Manufacturer's name/ model) in this state?"

Here is just a PARTIAL listing of new firearms that licensed
Massachusetts residents
CANNOT purchase from a dealer in this state
because they do not comply with the MA Consumer Protection
regulations and/or the 1998 Gun Control laws.

Handguns must meet the requirement of BOTH the 1998 Gun Control LAWS and
940 CMR Consumer Protection regulations. Some handguns are legal to sell under the regs only
and some only under the laws. They must comply with BOTH to be legal to sell.

If you have any questions regarding the future availability of the items listed
below in MA compliant configuration, please contact the manufacturers
directly since we don't know what their plans are.

For a link to the MA AG's site concerning these regulations please visit our REGULATIONS page.

All dealers in MA must follow the regulations without exceptions.

For specific legal questions regarding the Consumer Protection regulations please call the
Office of the Attorney General in Boston. We are not qualified to answer questions regarding
the interpretation of these regs and laws.

On May 12th, 2005 (or was it 2004?) Glock announced that they are going to offer MA compliant models. On or about June 30th, new Glock pistols were removed from the MA market due to a difference of opinion between Glock and the MA Attorney General's office over the loaded chamber indicator. News releases from the A.G.'s office are on the Glock page..

Any KAHR ARMS pistols?

Yes! The PM9 sub-compact 9mm pistol and the Auto Ordnance 1911A1 are both legal to sell in MA. Kahr has told us that more MA models will be available in the future. Great news. Thanks!

Manufacturers should contact the MA Attorney General's office regarding certification details.

FREEDOM ARMS puts out a very nice catalog with a note inside that says:

CASULL ARMS: Not for sale in MASS.

We don't like Taurus products due to terrible customer service experiences that we've had. However, it doesn't matter since we can't sell them anyway.
Wilson Custom Firearms

These folks have told us that they "Don't want anything to do with Massachusetts sales" since they don't understand the regs and laws and "don't want any potential legal problems. We don't need the aggravation" END QUOTE

When we could sell them, these were purchased by many law enforcement personnel as back-ups.

Taurus will not certify any of their handguns for sale in MA.

As with every NAA Mini-Revolver, the hammer need not rest on an empty chamber. Using the original half-way notch cylinder, the hammer may rest safely and securely without chance of accidental discharge.

Like all NAA Mini-Revolvers, they are covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship. The stability and ease of firing has made this gun a favorite with the ladies as well..
